One Month and Counting

March 26th, 2014

It is true my friends: I leave Costa Rica one month from today.  Where o where does the time go?  I knew this would go by fast- that doesn’t surprise me.  It is just hard to believe my adventure will be over in a month.

To have one last hang out my beautiful four closest friends (Alex, Meghan, Britleigh, Lizzie) and I went downtown to buy our shirt.  What is said shirt you ask?  Well, to stay in touch we decided to do a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants kind of deal.  Instead we are making it the traveling shirt: a Costa Rica Imperial sleeveless tank, as a matter of fact.  We bought it from our favorite shop vendor, Isabela (who sold me my bag in January and still remembers us and is always so sweet to us and gives us discounts), for a discounted price, about $7.  Not bad!
Just like in the book we wrote out a list of rules for the shirt and decided who will receive it in what order.  To start it off, I am wearing it tomorrow.  Then it will go with Britleigh to the Dominican Republic.  We are calling ourselves The Sisterhood of La Camisa Chivisima  (of the coolest shirt).  I am so excited to stay connect with these four in this way! How fun is that?
We ate lunch at Las Lenitas… the same restaurant Lizzie, Meghan and I ate on our very first day here in Costa Rica.  It was only appropriate to end our time with them there too!  God seriously blessed me with those four here.  We became so close so fast, and we will always share this adventure.  No one else will know me like they do.  I love them for it.

Tonight was the ISA good-bye dinner for all of the people whose program ends at the end of this month.  Everyone got all dressed up and ISA took us to a super nice restaurant in Escazu, which is on the side of a mountain.  You could see the whole view of the city from the restaurant.  It was so awesome.  The dinner ended with a photoshoot and a mini dance party.
How sad saying goodbye is.  It is hard for me and Lizzie because we have to be nearly friendless for the next month. Were gonna get so lonely! But we are not giving up on adventuring either.
All this goodbye business almost makes me feel like I am leaving.  I had two finals for two of my three classes this month.  So I had to say goodbye to those teachers and classmates, and now I am saying goodbye to all my friends.  There is so much talking of packing and seeing family I feel like I am leaving way sooner than I actually am.  But I know I will be boarding my flight in a blink of an eye- so I am going to just try and soak the rest of it in while I can.

One month and counting friends.  Lets do this!

Wes and I must be related: not just anyone can show all their teeth while smiling.  But we can.  Oh can we. Such cheesey smiles: just look at those!
